Central Competes in NAIA West Regional in Lawrence

Lawrence, Kan. - The Central Methodist Bowling programs competed in two tournaments as part of the NAIA West Regionals this past weekend at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kan. 

On day one, the CMU men finished tied for 14th after recording a total pinfall of 4,109 and finishing with a 1-4 record.

Individually, Lukas Heldenbrand was Central's highest finisher, bowling a five-game total of 992 to finish 21st. Dustin Linneman followed with a 59th-place standing, recording a total pinfall of 807. 

Declan White wasn't far behind, bowling 778 as did Takudswa Mukonzamariro. The duo finish 61st and 62nd respectively.

Lane Hook rounded out Central's bowlers with a 66th-place finish after bowling a five-game total of 754.

The CMU women placed 17th in the tournament on day one with a total pinfall of 2,590 and a 0-5 record. 

Maya Elliot led the way for the Eagles with a 45th-place finish and a pinfall total of 753. Emma Kitchens finished 53rd with a 700 bowling total, and Lauren Williams 62nd at with 658 pins. 

Engelle Milo rounded out Central's bowlers, finishing 74th after recording a pin total of 479. 

On Sunday, the teams competed in the second tournament of the weekend. Qualifying consisted of 25 baker games, with total pinfall determining the final standings.

Both the CMU men and women finished with identical 17th-place standings. The men finished with a 1-9 record and posted a pinfall total of 3,988 with set totals of 837, 675, 868, 744 and 864.

The women recorded a pinfall total of 2,556 with set scores of 533, 466, 475, 520 and 562.

Central will turn its attention to the postseason and the Heart of America Conference Championships begining Saturday, Feb. 22 at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Columbia, Missouri.
