Wichita, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's and Women's Bowling programs opened the 2025-26 regular season at the Mid-States Championships at Bowlero Northrock in Wichita, Kan.
The CMU women finished 21st out of the 24 team field after bowling a 16 Baker team game total of 2,401.
The varsity men placed 19th out of 29 teams. Central bowled in six team games with a total of 5,186 followed by 16 Baker team games for 2,937 total pins. Their total came out to 8,123.
The JV men finished 10th in their respective standings which included six team games (4,966 pins) and 16 Baker team games (2,606 pins) for a total of 7,572.
For the women, freshman Savannah Rutar was Central's highest finisher, placing 79th after bowling a six-game total of 927 for a tournament average of 154.5.
Emma Kitchens placed 94th with a six-game total of 847. Alexis Livesay bowled in the first five games, knocking down 792 pins and finishing 103rd.
Kathryn Chappell bowled in five games and tallied a score of 728 to place 111th. Alayna Abernathy competed in four games for a total of 519, finishing 146th.
Maya Elliot also bowled in four games, recording an individual total of 510 to place 149th.
For the men, Branden Groce placed 38th in the individual standings with a six-game total 1160. Jordan Shepard bowled in six games and finished 79th with a score of 1075.
Hayden Johnson (6 games - 1,066) and Chase Schnieders (6 games - 1,058) placed 81st and 82nd respectively.
Lane Hook also bowled in six games with a total of 1,020 to finish 97th. Cole Clayton placed 108th with a six-game total of 1,001.
Lukas Heldenbrand finished 113th with a six-game total of 988.
Jake Camacho (5 games - 786) and Adrian Wright (5 games - 767) finished 168th and 175th respectively.
Garrison Parkhurst (4 games - 601 - 217th), Hunter Scott (2 games - 296 - 285th), Ethan Duffman-Rode (1 game - 174 - 298th) and Declan White (1 game - 160 - 304th) also bowled for the Eagles.
Central will next compete in the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge beginning Saturday, Oct. 25 at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kan.
