Topeka, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's and Women's Bowling programs took part in a pair of tournaments as part of the NAIABCA Invite this past weekend at Gage Bowl in Topeka, Kansas.
The first day, on Friday, was a team competition that included individual placing, while day two was a Baker Team competition.
For the CMU men, the Eagles tallied a score of 4630 to finish 14th in the team competition Saturday.
Individually, Chase Schnieders was Central's highest individual finisher, placing 29th after bowling a 981 total through five games. Branden Groce followed, finishing 39th with a five-frame score of 917.
Lane Hook was right behind Groce in 41st place, bowling a 909 total. Lukas Heldenbrand rounded out Central's top five bowlers, bowling four games for a 722 total to finish 65th.
On Sunday, during the Baker Team competition, the men finished 14th with an overall score of 4575. They did not qualify for Sunday's Match Play event after day one and day two scores were combined for a final total of 9,102.
For the CMU women, Central recorded a day-one score of 3621 for a 20th-place standing.
In the individual rankings, Savannah Rutar led CMU with an 173.2 average (866) through five games for a 37th-place finish. Kathryn Chappell finished 60th with a total of 769 through five games.
On day two, Central finished 20th after 25 Baker Team games with a total of 3,641. With a combined score of 7,262 pins, the women finished 20th on the weekend.
Central will close out Fall competition at the Columbia Cougar Clash beginning Saturday, Dec. 6, at AMF Bowlero in Columbia, Missouri.
