Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Behind hat tricks from both Alessandro Salvadego and Stefano Campisi, the No. 2 Central Methodist men's soccer team cruised past Mount Mercy, 10-0, Saturday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

With the win, CMU improves to 5-0 and 2-0 in the Heart, while the Mustangs fall to 3-4 and 0-2 in the Heart. 

The Eagles finished the evening with 22 total shots including 17 on goal, compared to just seven shots and three on goal for Mount Mercy. Salvadego and Campisi each collected three goals to lead the way, while Theo Klein, Victor Luengo, Billy Nzojyibwami, and Cole Hutson each netted one goal. 

Stefano Camerlengo posted his fifth straight clean sheet of the 2021 season, playing 78 minutes in goal and recording three saves. Aaron Hoffman played the 12 minutes of action to close the match and preserve the shut out. 

Through five matches so far this season, CMU has tallied 22 total goals, good enough for an average of 4.4 goals/game. 

Central continues road action with a match against Evangel University Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
