ROME, Ga. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Tuesday that Central Methodist University has two football players named 2012 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Senior right tackle Cody Davis (Sullivan, Mo.) and redshirt sophomore linebacker Conner White (Jefferson City, Mo.) are among 259 NAIA football student-athletes to be named scholar-athletes.

Davis is a two-time honoree after receiving the award in 2011. He was also named to the Capital One College Division Academic All-America� football team for the second straight season.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete mush maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

The America Football Coaches Association-NAIA All-America team and the Rawlings-NAIA Football Player of the Year will be announced Wednesday.
