Eagles Fall in High Scoring Affair at Culver-Stockton

Canton, Mo. - The Central Methodist Football program fell in a high scoring affair to Culver-Stockton College Saturday afternoon in Canton, Missouri. 

The Wildcats outpaced the Eagles with a big second half, giving CS-C a 60-43 win. 

Central now stands at 2-7 overall, while Culver improves to 5-4.

Quarterback AJ Donovan finished the day completing 21 passes for a career-high 339 yards with two touchdowns.

Donovan found 10 different Eagles for pass completions, led by Jaylen Joseph who caught two passes for 77 yards including a 43 yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. Elijah Owens also caught a touchdown pass from Donovan. 

Senior running back Dawan Lomax carried the ball 13 times for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 27 yards. 

Jamar Nuby and Donovan each found the end zone with rushing touchdowns. 

Defensively, Treyvion Hourel Jr. led the way with nine tackles while also picking up a blocked extra point and returning it 97 yards for two points. 

Both Ashton Fowler and Dont'e Lewis recorded intereceptions, while Joshua Davis blocked the extra point attempt in the closing minutes of the second quarter. 

Despite generating nearly 570 yards of offense, Central committed five turnovers in the loss. Two of those turnovers resulted in immediate scores on the same play. 

The Eagles return to Heart South Division play with a road matchup against Missouri Baptist Saturday, Nov. 8 at 5:00 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.
