Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Football program welcomed William Penn University for their home opener Saturday afternoon at Davis Field.
CMU fell to the Statesmen by a final score of 38-6.
Quarterback Jordan Gile completed 15 passes for 110 total yards, while also carrying the ball 14 times for 19 total yards.
Runningback Jamar Nuby was Central's leading rusher, carrying the ball nine times for 33 yards for an average of 4.9 yards/carry. Zyon Slade led the receiving core with four catches, while Max Thomas and Dawan Lomax each made two receptions.
Cristobal Salgado scored converted two-of-three field goal attempts for the Eagles including a 39-yard field goal at the 8:40 mark of the second quarter.
On the defensive side of the ball, Treyvion Hourel Jr. led the way for CMU with nine tackles, one quarterback hurry, and an interception in the closing minutes of the first half.
Central will next hit the road to face Heart Football newcomer St. Ambrose for a 12:00 p.m. matchup Saturday, Sept. 13 in Davenport, Iowa.
