Robinson: More than meets the eye

AKRON, Ohio - With his season complete, former Central Methodist defensive end Trevor Robinson will participate in the Beyond Sports Network Collegiate Showcase for three days starting Friday, March 8.

A total of 120 players will take part in the three-day combine at Stile Athletic Field House on the University of Akron campus. The best athletes from around the country from the FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels compete in a testing combine, position drills, 7-on-7 drills and an All-Star Game. All of the action will be streamed live online for free.

Invited players will get the chance to perform in front of General Managers, Scouts, and representatives from the (NFL) National Football League, (CFL) Canadian Football League, (AFL)Arena Football League, among other professional football leagues.

Robinson, who has been training for combines and pro days since the end of the season, established himself as one of the finest players to ever wear the Green and Black. The Visalia, Calif., native totaled a school-record 27.5 sacks in only three seasons, including a season-record 11 in 2011.

Robinson was a first team All-Heart of America Athletic Conference selection in 2012 and was named to the BSN All-American third team. He was a second team All-HAAC choice and first team BSN All-American as a junior. Robinson was voted to the All-HAAC third team in 2010.
