Bayless Jr. to play in NFLPA Coll. Bowl
CARSON, Calif. - Former Central Methodist wide receiver Martin Bayless Jr. will play in the 2014 National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) Collegiate Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 18. The game will be aired on ESPN2 and WatchESPN.

Kickoff for the third annual game from the StubHub Center is set for 5 p.m. CT.

The game will feature over 70 NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA pro prospects divided into two squads, the National Team and the American Team. Bayless Jr. will wear No. 21 and play on the National squad.

Bayless Jr. averaged 10.7 yard per catch in 2013 for the Eagles. The San Diego native is the son of former 13-year NFL defensive back Martin Bayless Sr.

Other notable players in the game include Missouri quarterback James Franklin and linebacker Andrew Wilson, Northwest Missouri State defensive backs Brandon Dixon and Brian Dixon, South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw and Texas A&M defensive lineman Nate Askew.

Former NFL and Super Bowl champion head coach Dick Vermeil will return to defend the National Team's title from 2012 and 2013. Former NFL coach Denny Green will make his first appearance as a NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Head Coach as he takes the reigns of the American Team.

The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl practices and game will be broadcast live on the ESPN Network.
