The season kicks off when the Eagles head to Baton Rouge, La., on Saturday, Sept. 6, to take on the 2013 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Champion. The Jaguars went 9-4 last season, including a five-game win streak to end the season.
Central Methodist's matchup against Southern will be the first for the Eagles against a FCS opponent since a 55-44 loss to Southeast Missouri State during the 2011 campaign.
The new schedule has a total of five home games, including the first two contests against NAIA competition and three of the first four of the season against NAIA foes.
"This is a very competitive schedule for our program," Central Methodist Director of Athletics Ken Oliver said. "But we are very pleased with our schedule. The team and our fans will like opening the season with three of the first five games at home."
The season-opener at Southern is followed by home dates with Kansas Wesleyan and Benedictine. The Eagles' first road contest is at Avila (Mo.) on Sept. 27 before returning Oct. 4 to host MidAmerica Nazarene.
Central Methodist then hits the road for back to back game against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) and Graceland (Iowa) before returning to Davis Field Oct. 25 against Missouri Valley.
The Green and Black travel to Evangel (Mo.) on Nov. 1. The last home game for the Eagles is Nov. 8 against Baker (Kan.) before concluding the regular season at Peru State (Neb.) on Nov. 15.
The Eagles play 11 straight games without an open date for the second-straight season.
