SPRINGFIELD, Mo. Evangel (Mo.) outscored Central Methodist 20-0 in the second half Saturday to pull away for a 34-10 win at JFK Stadium in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.

Evangel (5-4, 3-4) trailed 10-7 late in the second quarter after a Kaleb Borghardt 41-yard touchdown run but took the lead with 1:05 left in the half on a 31 yard touchdown pass from Brett Diers to Otis Brown.

Ezequiel Rivera hit a 52-yard field goal in the first quarter to get Central Methodist (4-5, 3-4) on the board. The made field goal was the 28th of his career, breaking Greg Hession's previous Eagles' record of 27 made between�1984-88.

Evangel scored a defensive touchdown early in the third quarter when Chandler Eden returned a fumble 46 yards for a touchdown to make the score 21-10 lead. The Crusaders then added a 29 yard field goal by Cameron Mortazavi four minutes later.

Early in the fourth quarter, Evangel added another touchdown as Brown scored on a 78 yard reverse. Mortazavi added a 31 yard field goal later in the fourth for the final margin.

Diers finished 10 of 25 for 120 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.�Brock West finished the game with 143 rushing yards on 25 carries.

Devon Overall led the Crusaders' defense with eight tackles.

The Eagles' Nic Stephens was 11 of 32 for 120 yards through the air.�Borghardt tallied 41 yards on two carries. Tyler Steinkamp had 34 yards on 12 carries.�Shawn Whitley caught six balls for 63 yards, while Paul Stevens had five catches for 57 yards.

Matt Harmon led the Eagles' defense with 16 tackles. Damien Stevens had nine, while Cole Thomure, Russell Perkins Jr. and Hunter Kelley each had eight. Collin Teal and Chris Porter each had one interception. Teal and Ryan Tate each had a sack.

Central Methodist hosts No. 7 Baker (Kan.) on Saturday, Nov. 8, for a 1 p.m. CT kickoff.
