Fayette, Mo. The Central Methodist University Eagle football team got down early and were unable to mount a comeback on Saturday, when they fell to Benedictine College by a final of 31-14 in front of a capacity crowd at Davis Field in Fayette, Missouri.

With the loss, Central Methodist falls to 2-4 on the season, while 23^rd ranked Benedictine improves to 4-2 on the year.

The Benedictine College Ravens jumped on the Eagles early and often in the first half of Saturday evening's contest. With a hurry-up offense, the Ravens put 21 points on the board, before CMU could muster their first score on a touchdown pass by Caleb Bedford to Keenan Honroe for 59 yards with four seconds left before halftime.

In the second half, the Ravens and Eagles exchanged possessions to begin with, before the Ravens found the end zone yet again to take a 28-7 lead into the fourth quarter.

Following an early fourth quarter touchdown by the Ravens, Caleb Bedford hooked up with Adam Weiland for a five yard touchdown pass to cap of the scoring at 31-14.

Bedford finished the night 29-for-40 for 370 yards passing, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. On the receiving side, Jamall Williams and Adam Weiland both had over 100 yards receiving, with 122 and 106 yards respectively.

The Eagles will take an extended break, as they off their off week next weekend. CMU is next in action on Saturday October 17^th, when they travel to face their rivals; Missouri Valley College in Marshall. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30pm. The Eagles return home on Saturday October 24^th, for homecoming against Evangel University at 1pm.
