Fayette, Mo. – The Central Methodist University Eagles football team had their homecoming game ruined by the 2nd ranked Baker University Wildcats on Saturday afternoon, as Baker defeated Central 73-26 at Davis Field.

With the loss, Central Methodist falls to 1-8 overall, and 0-3 in The Heart's Southern Division. With the victory, the 2nd ranked Wildcats improve to 9-0 overall, and 3-0 in The Heart's Southern Division.

The Baker Wildcats showed off their high powered offense on Saturday afternoon, as they struck for 31 first quarter points to jump out to a 31-0 lead after a quarter of play. The second quarter was not any kinder to the Eagles, as the Wildcats posted 21 more points to claim a 52-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Eagles offense came to life. Central struck first on a 30 yard touchdown pass from Caleb Bedford (JR/Houston, Tex.) to Adam Weiland (SR/Sullivan, Mo.). Following two more Baker scores, Central got on the scoreboard again when Bedford rushed from a yard out to score an Eagles touchdown to begin the fourth quarter of play.
