Five Eagles Named To All #HeartFB16 Teams

Fayette, Mo. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced their All-Conference teams on Monday morning, with five members from the Central Methodist University football team earning spots on the 2016 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Southern Division Teams.

"I am really proud of the guys who were selected to the all-conference teams for the 2016 season," said CMU head football coach David S. Calloway.

The five players that were recognized by The Heart include wide receiver Keenan Honore (SR/Anchorage, Alaska) being named to the All-Conference 2nd Team Offense. Honore finished the season with 35 receptions for a team high 804 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensive lineman Damien Stevens (SR/Piscataway, NJ) was named to the All-Conference 2nd Team Defense. Stevens finished the season with 56 tackles, nine and a half tackles for a loss, along with three and a half sacks.

Quarterback Caleb Bedford (JR/Houston, Tex.), along with wide receivers Adam Weiland (SR/Sullivan, Mo.) and Dillon Britt (SR/Kearney, Mo.) were all named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention Offensive list. Bedford led the Eagles with 2,796 passing yards and 25 passing touchdowns. He also ran the ball for 401 yards and five touchdowns. Adam Weiland and Dillon Britt were the second and third best receivers on the Eagles, totaling 786 yards, and 425 receiving yards respectively. The two combined to catch 13 touchdown passes this season.

Central Methodist finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 2-9, and 1-4 in Heart of America Athletic Conference South Division play. The 2017 season is scheduled to begin on August 26, when Central Methodist hosts Culver-Stockton College at Davis Field.
