Fayette, Mo. - After leading the Central Methodist defense to a 42-0 shutout victory over Graceland University Saturday afternoon, senior linebacker Mar'Quess Daniels has named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
The Trumbull, Connecticut native finished with seven tackles including two for losses, one sack, and a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown. The pick-six marks Daniels' third career interception as a member of the Eagles.
Overall, the CMU defense held the Yellowjackets to 116 total yards of total offense and held the opposing quarterback to nine-of-23 for 72 yards and four interceptions. Central Methodist returns home to host William Penn for its annual homecoming game Saturday, Sept. 26 at 2:00 p.m at Davis Field.
