Fayette, Mo. - After a stellar performance against Missouri Valley College Saturday afternoon, junior punter Samuel Petrin was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
The Bunnell, Fla. native converted on all three of his field-goal attempts, and both extra points in the Eagles 23-13 win over the Vikings. He also punted four times for 175 total yards, averaging 43.8 yards/punt, including a long of 62. In addition, Petrin recorded six kickoffs for 315 total yards, including a long of 62 yards.
Central's win in Marshall marks the third consecutive year the Eagles' have claimed victory over MVC.
The Eagles return home for a matchup against Benedictine College Saturday, Oct. 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
