Kansas City, Mo. - After a stellar outing against the Pioneers, Central Methodist senior punter Samuel Petrin was selected as this week's Heart Football Special Team's Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
This marks the second time Petrin has earned the award this season, as he was also recognized back on Sept. 20.
Against MidAmerica Nazarene Saturday, the Bunnell, Fla. native went a perfect five-for-five on extra points and converted both of his field goal attempts. He also recorded three punts for 129 total yards including one punt landing inside the 20-yard line. CMU went on to defeat the Pioneers by a final score of 41-24.
Central currently holds a 6-2 record and 2-0 mark in Heart South Division Play. The Eagles return home to host Missouri Valley College Satuday, Oct. 30 at 2:00 p.m. for Homecoming. CMU has won the past three meetings against the Vikings dating back to the 2018 season.
