Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Football duo of Lontas Mcclinton and Oscar Simon were tabbed as the Big Game Heart Football Players of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday.
Mcclinton was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week, while Simon earned Heart Special Teams weekly honors.
Mcclinton tallied 12 tackles and recovered a fumble to setup CMU's first touchdown in their 34-20 road loss at Olivet Nazarene Saturday.
Simon, a junior from Colleyville, Texas, connected on two field goals against ONU and went 2-for-2 on extra points. He also recorded five kickoffs for 253 total yards, with two of those coming out of the endzone for touchbacks.
Central returns home to host No. 21 Benedictine College Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
