Lady Eagles Dominate Harris-Stowe for First Win
Eight different players scored for Central Methodist University as the Lady Eagles cruised to a 9-0 win over Harris-Stowe State University Wednesday night at Davis Field.

Junior Holly Jones (Keller, Texas) got the scoring started for CMU with a goal in the 22nd minute off a pass from sophomore Samantha Baldi (St. Charles, Mo.). Four minutes later, Baldi made it 2-0 with a goal of her own. Sophomore Shawn Beard (Moberly, Mo.) scored in the 31st minute off an assist from freshman Erin Reilly (Alton, Ill.) to make it 3-0. In the 34th minute, Beard and Reilly assisted on a goal by sophomore Kennedy Seifert (Moberly, Mo.), making the score 4-0. Reilly then added a pair of goals before halftime off assists by Seifert and Baldi, giving CMU a 6-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, junior Elizabeth Robb (Columbia, Mo.) scored on an unassisted goal in the 66th minute. Freshman Toni Haberkorn (St. Charles, Mo.) and sophomore Shannon Dickerson (Moberly, Mo.) each scored their first collegiate goals in the 76th and 78th minutes, respectively, to close the scoring for CMU.

Central Methodist out-shot Harris-Stowe 43-1 in the match, and the Lady Eagles had 20 shots on goal. The Lady Eagles improved to 1-2-1 on the season with the win. Harris-Stowe dropped to 0-3. Central Methodist will be back in action Friday against Tabor College. That contest is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Davis Field.
