Oskaloosa, Iowa - The No. 21 Central Methodist Women's Soccer program took care of business on the road against William Penn University Saturday afternoon in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
CMU shutout the Statesmen on their home turf by a final score of 3-0. The Eagles improve to 5-1-1 and 3-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while William Penn falls to 1-5-1 and 0-3 in conference action.
An own goal by the Statesmen in the 11th minute of play gave Central a 1-0 lead in the first half. Luisa Schaupp netted the second goal for the Eagles in the 31st minute off the assist from Suzu Narusawa.
The third and final goal of the match came just before halftime as Luana Jaroline scored unassisted.
Central's defense took care of business in the second half, allowing William Penn to get off just two shots in the final 45.
CMU finished with 11 total shots with seven coming on goal. Schaupp led the offense with four shots and two shots on goal.
The Eagles return home to host No. 9 Missouri Valley College Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 5:00 p.m. at Davis Field. Both teams are currently undefeated in conference play.
