Ottawa, who is among the teams receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Soccer Top 25 Coaches' Poll, scored in just the third minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead early, which it held at halftime. In the second period, sophomore Jenny Mosley (Chatham, Ill.) scored her first goal of the season off a ball through the middle by sophomore Elizabeth Gayer (Columbia, Mo.) in the 60th minute to tie the score at 1-1. The two teams battled during the next 10 minutes, before Ottawa was able to add a goal in the 71st minute. CMU freshman goalkeeper Meredith Brick (Chillicothe, Mo.) saved a shot, deflecting it to another Ottawa player who was able to put it in the net for the game-winning goal. The Braves added another goal with less than a minute remaining in the match to finish with the 3-1 win.

CMU finished with 12 shots, including five on goal, while Ottawa had 15 shots, 10 of which were shots on goal. Brick finished with seven saves in the match. CMU also had a 4-3 advantage on corner kicks.

Central Methodist dropped to 2-3-1 with the loss, while Ottawa improved to 4-0-1. The Lady Eagles will play their fifth straight home match Friday night, when they host University of St. Mary. That contest is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. at Davis Field.
