The Lady Eagles struck first with a goal in the first half by sophomore Jenny Mosley (Chatham, Ill.) off a great pass across the box from freshman Erin Reilly (Alton, Ill.). Missouri Baptist answered with a pair of goals before halftime to take a 2-1 lead.

Missouri Baptist added its third goal early in the second half to extend its lead to 3-1. With less than 20 minutes remaining in the match, CMU finally broke through again as sophomore Shawn Beard (Moberly, Mo.) kicked a ball from outside the top of the box that arched over the goalkeeper's hands and into the net to cut the score to 3-2. The Lady Eagles were unable to net any more goals as they lost the match by the final score of 3-2.

Central Methodist dropped to 3-4-1 on the season with the loss, while Missouri Baptist improved to 1-4. The Lady Eagles are set to begin conference play Saturday when they travel to Baldwin City, Kan., to face Baker University in a 5 p.m. match.
