Graceland scored three goals in the first half, including one on a penalty kick to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Yellowjackets added another goal in the 54th minute to extend their lead to 4-0. The Lady Eagles kept battling, and in the 66th minute freshman Lindie Adair (Boonville, Mo.) scored on a pass from freshman Kelsey Vanzant (Troy, Mo.) to make it 4-1. Graceland scored again in the 74th minute to make the final score 5-1.
The Lady Eagles were out-shot 22-15, including 15-9 in shots on goal. Sophomore Brittany Andert (St. Peters, Mo.) took her first loss of the season, playing 60 minutes in goal for CMU and recording 10 saves while allowing four goals. Sophomore Meredith Brick (Chillicothe, Mo.) played the final 30 minutes in goal, allowing one goal and recording one save.
Central Methodist dropped to 13-2-1 on the season and 3-2-1 in the HAAC with the loss. Graceland improved to 8-5-3 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference. The Lady Eagles will be back in action with their final regular-season contest on Nov. 2, hosting Culver-Stockton College for Senior Night at 5 p.m. at Davis Field.
