HANNIBAL, Mo. - Goalkeeper Brittany Andert stopped three shots and posted her third shutout in only the sixth game of the season, sparking Central Methodist University to a 2-0 win over Hannibal-LaGrange University in women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Blackwell Field.
The Eagles (5-1) got goals from midfielder Jordie Retzlaff and forward Lindie Adair. Retzlaff scored the game-winner in 24th minute off assists by Adair and midfielder Shawn Beard. The goal was Retzlaff's second of the season.
Adair added an insurance goal in the 55th minute. Midfielder Kelsey Vanzant played a through ball to the Boonville, Mo., native who beat Hannibal-LaGrange goalkeeper Whitney Voepel for her sixth goal of 2012.
Forward Kayla Leeser recorded a game-high four shots, including two shots on goal, for the Eagles.
Voepel made seven saves for the home team.
Central Methodist will travel to Park University on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
