BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Central Methodist recorded its fifth clean sheet of the season Wednesday after a 3-0 win over Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) at Lynx Soccer Field. With the result, the Eagles remain undefeated (7-0-3) against non-conference foes this season.
Fernanda Ramirez scored the game's first goal in the 11th minute with an assist from Nicki Noreen. Central Methodist (7-1-3) made the score 2-0 when Jamie Krediet and Kelsey Vanzant served a ball to Jenny Retzlaff, who beat Lindenwood-Belleville (2-7-1) goalkeeper Kelsey Lahm in the 52nd minute. The final goal came in the 57th minute when Krediet went top shelf from 18 yards out.
Central Methodist goalkeeper Sam Savio (7-1-3) made two saves in 81:39, while Nikki Fleischmann played the final 8:21 in net.
Lahm (2-6) recorded four saves in 90 minutes.
The Eagles outshot the Lynx 14-3 and held an edge in corner kicks 9-4.
Central Methodist hosts Avila (Mo.) on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m. CT.
