FAYETTE, Mo. - Central Methodist picked up its first Heart of America Athletic Conference win Sunday with a 3-0 decision against Avila (Mo.) at Davis Field.
Nicki Noreen struck first for Central Methodist (8-1-3, 1-1) in the 21st minute when she redirected a deflection into the back of the net for her ninth goal this season. An own goal in the 26th minute gave the Green and Black a two-goal advantage at halftime.
Noreen fed Jamie Krediet in the 48th minute for her eighth goal in 2014 to make the difference three goals.
Central Methodist goalkeeper Sam Savio (8-1-3) made saves in 90 minutes.
Avila goalkeeper Shea Myer (5-3-1) recorded saves in 90 minutes.
Central Methodist outshot Avila, 18-9.
Central Methodist travels to No. 23 Missouri Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. CT.
