Four Lady Eagles Honored By The Heart

Four Lady Eagles Honored By The Heart
Kansas City, Mo. The Heart of America Athletic Conference released their 2015 All-Conference Women's Soccer Teams on Wednesday, with four Central Methodist University Lady Eagles earning spots on the teams. The four include junior Nicki Noreen (1st), junior Lady Tiriat (2nd), sophomore Rebecca Steele-Mackey (3rd), and freshman Ana Gonzalez (3rd).

"It was very good seasons for Nicki, Lady, Rebecca, and Ana," said CMU head women's soccer coach Dan Schmidlin."I am truly proud of them for their efforts and leadership all year long.I personally think we had several more players deserving of all conference awards too.A lot of players had strong seasons for us to finish with a record of 6-2-2 in conference."

Nicki Noreen (Bartlett, Ill.) led the Lady Eagles during the regular season with a team high 13 goals, helping her earn a spot on a crowded All-Conference 1st Team. She also registered three assists while starting in all 18 matches for Central Methodist. Noreen scored the game-winning goal for the Lady Eagles twice this season and led the team with 53 shots on goal.

Lady Tiriat (Bogota, Columbia) made a huge impact right away for the Lady Eagles in her first season and because of her contributions, she earned a spot on the All-Conference 2nd Team. She finished the regular season with a goal and three assists, while appearing in 15 games for the Lady Eagles.

Rebecca Steele-Mackey (Wasilla, Alaska) and Ana Gonzalez (Miranda de Ebro, Spain) both earned spots on the All-Conference 3rd Team. Steele-Mackey was one of the top defenders for the Lady Eagles this season, while registering three assists. Gonzalez finished second on the team with eight goals and she also recorded three assists. Gonzalez ranked second on the team with 22 shots on goal this season and recorded the game-winning goal three times.

Complete List

The Lady Eagles will host Culver-Stockton College in a Heart of America Athletic Conference quarterfinal match this Saturday November 7th, beginning at 7pm at Davis Field.

"We are excited to host a first round playoff match," said Schmidlin."All of our girls are excited for Saturday night's match against Culver Stockton. It will be a great atmosphere on Saturday night. The girls are preparing hard and we will be ready to perform at a high level."
