"Anytime you win offensive or defensive player of the week, it is a very special week for that player and team," said CMU head women's soccer coach Dan Schmidlin."When you win it in the postseason, it is even more special.Congrats to both Nicki (Noreen) and Amy (Clason-Messina) for great games on Saturday. Amy recorded her sixth clean sheet in conference play and Nicki scored her 14th and 15th goals of the season. Both players are having great seasons.Very well deserved awards."

Nicki Noreen found out around this time last week that she was named to the 1st Team All-Conference list. Now Noreen can add conference player of the week after scoring two goals in a 2-0 shutout victory over Culver-Stockton College in the conference quarterfinals.

Amy Clason-Messina earned the defensive player of the week award after making six saves and defending eight corner kicks in the 2-0 victory over the Wildcats.

The Lady Eagles (11-5-3) now head out on the road to face 7th ranked and the #1 seed in The Heart's postseason tournament Benedictine College (17-1-1) on Wednesday November 11th at 7pm. Central Methodist fell to the Ravens back on October 17th by a final of 2-0 in Fayette. This time, the two squads will square off in Atchison, Kansas, with the winner advancing to the conference championship on Saturday November 14th to face the winner of MidAmerica Nazarene/Baker.

"We are excited for our next match on Wednesday, but it is just another game," said Schmidlin. "That is how we treat all of our games. Our goal was to win the conference tournament and we are one step closer to reaching that goal. Most importantly, our girls are playing their best soccer at the right time of the year.We definitely respect Benedictine, but we are going there to win the game."
