Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that 578 Women's Soccer student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Among the 578 athletes, include four Central Methodist University Eagles.
The four Eagles named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes were: Megan Bremer, Jenny Retzlaff, Rebecca Steele-Mackey (JR/Wasilla, Alaska), and Lady Tiriat (SR/Bogota, Columbia).
"I am very proud of the girls that received this great honor," said CMU head women's soccer coach Dan Schmidlin. "We pride our team on being great student-athletes and this accomplishment shows how hard these young ladies have worked throughout their college careers."
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
