FAYETTE, Mo. – Central Methodist women's soccer opened the 2019 campaign with a win after defeating the University of Jamestown at home on Thursday evening.
Anika Kallash (JR/Troy, Mo.) tapped in the first goal of the game at the 14-minute mark after a shot from Andrea Villar (JR/Madrid, Spain) ricochet off of the Jimmies goalkeeper. Judith Sainz (SR/Pamplona, Spain) buried a penalty kick in the 77th minute after a foul in the box to secure the win. Jamestown was able to sneak one goal in on a cross, cutting the deficit in the 83rd minute.
Sheila Sanchez (FR/Castellon, Spain) earned her first start in the box as an Eagle, grabbing one save en route to the victory. As a team, Central Methodist outshot the Jimmies at a 16-3 margin, placing 11 attempts on frame.
Up next for the Eagles is a home contest against Missouri Baptist on Saturday, August 24th. The game is set to begin at 5 PM on Davis Field.
