No. 4 Eagles to square off against No. 5 Keiser in NAIA National Quarterfinals

No. 4 Eagles to square off against No. 5 Keiser in NAIA National Quarterfinals

Orange Beach, Ala. - The Central Methodist women's soccer team will compete at the Final Site of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala. beginning Thursday, Dec. 2.

The Eagles have earned the No. 4 seed in this year's tournament, and will face No. 5 seed and defending NAIA National Champion Keiser (Fla.) in the quaterfinals at 10:00 a.m (CST).

Central punched its ticket to the dance after cruising through the Opening Round Championship of the Columbia Bracket, first with an 8-0 win over Bellevue (Neb.) and a 2-0 victory over Columbia College. CMU enters the Final Site with a 21-1 overall record, with its only loss coming to No. 8 Marian on Sept. 8 in St. Louis.

In 22 matches this season, the Eagles have conceded only five goals and have tallied 18 total shut outs. Central's offense has proven to be one of the best in the nation, scoring 89 total goals and averaging more than four goals/game.

The Seahawks return to the Final Site after shut out victories over College of Idaho and Cumberland University (Tenn.) in Opening Round play. Keiser currently boasts a 16-2 overall record, with its only losses coming against No. 2 William Carey and No. 24 St. Thomas University in the first round of the Sun Conference Tournament. Keiser will look to repeat as NAIA National Champions for the second consecutive season.

The NAIA Network – the association's official video-streaming home – will broadcast all matches live at this year's championship. The video platform, powered by Presto, allows users access to live video, statistics and social interaction on a number of devices, including mobile. Single-day passes can be purchased for $9.95, while a tournament pass is $34.95. Fans may access the NAIA Network by clicking here.
