Des Moines, Iowa - Behind two second half goals from senior Roneisha Frank, the No. 8 Central Methodist women's soccer program earned a 2-1 victory over Grand View University Saturday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa.
With the win, the Eagles push their overall record to 9-2-1 and 5-0-1 in the Heart. Grand View now stands at 4-4-2 and 3-1-1 in conference action.
Central found themselves in an early hole just 15 minutes into the first half on a Vikings' goal. The Eagles would enter the halftime break trailing Grand View 1-0.
Frank would even the score in the 50th minute of play with her eighth goal of 2022. In the 70th minute, Frank gave Central the go-ahead score off the assist from Maria Cervello.
CMU's defense held firm, holding the Vikings without a shot through the final 20 minutes of play to earn the narrow 2-1 victory.
Frank led Central's offense with six total shots, including four on goal and the two goals scored. Sandra Jakobsen added three shots and one shot on goal.
Overall, CMU fired off 15 shots with seven on goal, compared to two shots with both coming on goal for the Vikings.
Central returns home to host Park University Saturday, Oct. 8 at 5:00 p.m. as part of Homecoming weekend. The Eagles are currently riding a 47 home-game winning streak dating back to October, 2018.
