Barreto Named WinWon Heart Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time in her young career, Central Methodist Freshman forward Mariana Barreto was named the WinWon Heart Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday.

Barreto, a native of Valencia, Venezuela finished the week with four goals and an assist as No. 6 CMU went 2-0 against William Penn and Grand View. She scored two game winners including a hat trick against the Vikings Sunday.

Altogether, Barreto fired off 10 totals shots, with six of those coming on frame.

Barreto and the Eagles are set to do battle with rival and No. 23 nationally ranked Missouri Valley College Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 5:00 p.m. at Davis Field. Both squads currently sit atop the Heart standings with perfect 6-0-0 records.
