Fayette, Mo. – The Central Methodist Eagles volleyball team swept the first edition of the 2020 Heart weekly awards, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Sophomore libero Krystal Brauner took home Defender of the Week honors, while Callie Henson was named Attacker of the Week and Elise Hardesty-Irvin earned Setter of the Week.
Brauner, a native of Jefferson City, Mo., played in all six sets for CMU, recording 30 digs for an average of five per set.
Henson led the offensive attack for the Eagles, as she averaged 4.2 kills per set while hitting .457 on the right side. Overall, she finished the pair of matches with 21 kills in five sets played.
Hardesty-Irvin rounded out the awards, earning the Heart's first conference setter of the week honor for the 2020 season. The junior from Columbia, Mo., averaged 7.67 assists and two digs per set.
The Eagles posted a 2-0 mark Saturday afternoon, sweeping both Ottawa University and Southwestern College in straight sets inside Puckett Fieldhouse.
Central Methodist will face Park University for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 7:00 p.m. in Parkville, Mo.
